Volgens Paul Op de Coul
He filled the space
Paul Op den Coul, bevriend met Ritsaert ten Cate sinds hun jeugd, herinnert zich:
"Ritsaert was always very present. He had lots of stories to tell, he was full of fun and liveliness, he filled the space. He was also audibly present, which sometimes created a problem at home. My father was a man who liked peace and quiet. Sunday mornings he would put a record on the phonograph just to listen to the music. If he heard Ritsaert coming in, he would say 'We might as well shut off the phonograph". Ritsaert couldn't sit still and couldn't keep quiet."
