Learning everything from scratch
Theaterhistoricus Rob Erenstein:
"It's a mistake to think that Ritsaert knew what he wanted. He came out of Twente with the idea of setting up a chique club. You couldn't get to Loenersloot by public transportation. You had a small group of the same people. He attracted attention because of his story: rich guy spends lots of money on the arts. He had to learn everything from scratch, the whole mentality of theatre, step by step."
